I remember way way back in high school hearing stories of a boy who thought he could win the favour of a demon by sacrificing his sister to it. It may have been an urban legend. It may have been a movie someone watched and retold. But the gateway drug, we all knew, was Dungeons & Dragons. Cue ominous music.
